Selma Meyer Mentoring Certificates

One hundred years ago, Selma Meyer completed her habilitation at the Dusseldorf Medical Academy as a first woman in paediatrics and the second woman to habilitate in medicine in Germany. Today, she lends her name to one of the largest mentoring programmes in Germany at Heinrich Heine University.

On 14 June 2022, SelmaMeyerMentoring hosted a celebratory together with several Collaborative Research Centers and Research Training Groups of HHU in the lecture hall Selma Meyer (Building 13.55, MNR-Clinic) to mark this special occasion with a keynote speech by Prof. Heather Hofmeister „Step into your light: Being seen and heard as a woman in science“. On this occasion, all mentees were awarded certificates for their participation.

Our doctoral researchers Lena, Julia and Mira participated in the Selma Meyer mentoring program in 2021 and also got their certificates during that event.

The Selma Meyer Mentoring program is a personnel development strategy for female early career researchers. It aims to help qualified, committed female early career researchers identify and develop their skills and expertise, and systematically integrate these into their career planning. It is open to female researchers in every career level. Please find more information about this fantastic program here: https://www.mentoring.hhu.de/
